Cheese lover Martin Nichols has opened a new shop in Warwick.

Cheeses in Warwick is an artisan cheese shop based at 11 Jury Street.

Martin, who lives in Rugby and originally came from a catering background, has always loved tasty cheese and believes he can offer a range of matured cheeses that are not readily available at supermarkets.

Cheeses in Warwick is a local purveyor of fine cheeses, flavoured crackers, chutneys and cheese gifts.

Martin said: “We can supply cheeses for all occasions such as cheese and wine evenings, dinner parties and wedding cakes.”

The shop has a great range of matured cheeses from across the UK and the continent which have won awards at prestige food shows. Many have unique flavours and textures.

Martin, who had been a buyer for 12 years with a large corporate sign company, was made redundant a couple of years ago due to the recession.

He said: “When I finished work it was a big blow, mainly because I had been there so long, and the people I worked with were more like family. We all got on so well.

“I had always wanted to work for myself and in some ways it forced me into a life changing decision. I chose Warwick as my location because it’s a lovely traditional old town with many small shops, and I believe a cheese shop will also complement it.”

His future plans include a website to enable online shopping.
