Crafty Rokeby students get colourful for competition
CREATIVE pupils in Rugby have been getting in touch with their artistic side through a school colouring competition.
Team members at the Wilkinson store in the Clock Towers shopping centre collectively chose Rokeby School, in Anderson Avenue, as the recipient of a free craft box, containing a variety of colourful art and stationery supplies.
Children were asked to use the equipment to create a picture, which was submitted to the store for judging. After much deliberation, Grace Hart, aged nine, was chosen as the school’s overall winner, fighting off tough competition from 52 entries to receive a £15 Wilkinsons voucher and see her picture taking pride of place within the store.
Jamie Bainbridge, store manager, said: “This is the first time we have been involved in this type of competition. We chose Rokeby School because of its connections with several of our team members.”
