A ROKEBY Primary School pupil has been crowned the winner of an annual Christmas card competition.

Katie Wright, seven, was selected as the winner of MP Mark Pawsey’s Christmas card competition out of dozens of entries. She designed a colourful creation, which includes a Christmas tree, snowman and stocking. The card has now been sent out to dozens of recipients from Mr Pawsey in time for Christmas.

Runners up were Priya Barhey, six, from Cawston Grange Primary and Beniah Terrill, 10, from Northlands Primary.

Mr Pawsey said: “Each year since I became MP I have run a competition among local school children to design my Christmas card. I was delighted to welcome Katie, Beniah and Priya to my office to receive their prizes for preparing such spectacular designs. I am looking forward to inviting Katie and her parents to join me at the House of Commons in the new year.”
