Last journey for Rugby bus driver

After 43 years working on the buses in and around Rugby, Martin Oldfield is retiring.

Mr Oldfield was 21 years old when he started work for Stagecoach - formerly known as Midland Red.

He began he career on the buses as a conductor and later became a driver.

Mr Oldfield is retiring just in time for his 65th birthday on Wednesday.

Mr Oldfield said he will miss all the people.

A gathering for past and present colleagues will be held at the United Rail Club in Spring Street on March 1 at 7.30pm to celebrate Mr Oldfield’s retirement.
