Warwick Hearing Specialists is private audiology business run by Kabir Hussain (BSc hons) Audiology MSHAA RHAD HCPC, which opened a couple of months ago.

As well as working in audiology clinics – both for the NHS and in the private sector – across the country, he has also helped train and supervise students in this field and been a Director of Audiology for a renowned hearing company.

Now he’s brought all his expertise back to his home-town of Warwick, where he’s already found a host of customers.

He is the only audiologist, which means he can give a one-to-one service to all customers and get to know them, building up trust and confidence. There is also a receptionist, Ben, who deals with queries, appointments and can carry out minor repairs or adjustments to hearing aids.

"I have already have been a lot busier than I expected,” said 31-year-old Kabir. "I want people to have peace of mind when coming to see us, to know they will be listened to and looked after.”

Cutting waiting times

Covid and lockdowns have left a backlog for audiology appointments. It’s why GPs often refer patients to private centres like his.

As well as tests and hearing aids the new clinic also offers various ear wax removal procedures for both adults and children, therapy for Tinnitus and custom hearing protection, and a home visit service to patients who are housebound.

After the Mayor of Warwick, Councillor Oliver Jacques, officially opened the business in May, he wrote to Kabir, to congratulate him saying his services would go a long way to supporting patients and improving quality of life.
