Have your say

Theatrical and piratical teachers

We might not realise it when we’re children, but teachers have lives outside the classroom - as this picture proves.
It was sent to us by June Timson (nee Hitchcock) and shows the cast of The Pirates of Penzance at Rugby Theatre in 1954 - as put on by the Young Teachers Operatic Society.
June is third from the left in the chorus. She remembers that the main characters were played by Bob Bradbrook, Barbara White and a Mr Henderson. Among the sharply-dressed orchestra is Doug Farquar.

Are you in this picture, or do you know others who were? What are your memories of the show? Do you have any pictures you’d like to share?
