n These fit young men were the Murray School 1st XV rugby team from 1952-53.

It was brought in by David Smith, who is the young lad with the dark hair on the left of the front row. David is now 74 and lives in Pailton and can remember a few of the others on the photo. Next to him was Brian Churchill, whose father was a policeman in Newbold. Another on the front row was Malcolm Mitchell, known as ‘Big Mitch’.

Second from left on the back row was right wingDougie Jackson, who used to work at Rugby’s town hall. Readers may also recognise Mick Hardiman, Keith Edwards and Derek Reynolds.
