Rugby Wednesday Football Club, 1926
Anyone who remembers a former colleague of mine, the late Len Archer, will be interested in this photograph.
It is of the Rugby Wednesday Football Club in 1926.
Len, who was a well-known reporter on the Advertiser for many, many years, of course wasn’t around then. But his father, Freeman Archer, is the last player on the right, seated in the middle row next to the man with the cigarette and porkpie hat. The picture belongs to Tony Lintern, whose father Eric Lintern is the first player seated on the left of the middle row.
