Rugby Chamber of Commerce canal trip 1950
This is another of Ross Hammond’s photographs from 1950.
This time in the group are members of Rugby Chamber of Commerce and their wives and partners, who enjoyed several outings. On this occasion their day out was a canal trip.
Now 92, Mr Hammond is well known in the town for having run a hairdressing business for many years. He and his wife Brenda are in the front, nearest the barge.
The others he can remember are: Charles Moore, Wilf Yates, Charles Sawyer, Bill Hollinshead, ? Underwood, Ted Counter, the manager of Marks & Spencer; JT Smith, Enoch Hirst and Bill Sykes.
