n YOU may recognise one man - Dermot McCourt - on both these pictures. He lives in South Africa now, but has been back in Rugby on holiday and dropped in with these two pictures.
The first is of Oakfield Cricket Club, the first time they won what was the Advertiser Cricket League (now Rugby & District) Knock-out Cup in 1972 or 73.
Dermot is kneeling on the left of the front row, with Dickie Barratt and Tyson jnr. On the back row (first four from left) are Mick McGuire, John Gilbert, Mal Tyson, Steve Tye. The only other name he remembers was Bill Hall on the far right.
The second picture is of the Young Dynamos football team on a weekend away in Blackpool in the 1960s.
The seven (from left) are Bob Jenkins, Tom O’Brien, Bunny Kriel, Dermot McCourt, Dave Anthony, Derek Jarvis and Bob Collingwood.
If anyone who recognises themselves on these pictures would like to say hello to Dermot, he would like to hear from you before he goes back to South Africa on May 21. His mobile number is 07780 774765.
Dermot grew up in Lytham Road, Rugby and was living in Belmont Road before he moved to South Africa in 1972.
