Dunchurch & Thurlaston Photographic Club 1950
Thank you very much to Ross Hammond who has given us this picture to share with Memory Lane readers. These smiling faces belong to members of Dunchurch & Thurlaston Photographic Club in 1950. The group was set up for camera enthusiasts after the war but only lasted about four years, not helped by the introduction of colour processing, which wasn’t as easy as developing black and white. Now 92, Mr Hammond is on the very left of the picture and he can name all but two of the others, who were, next to him, Des Wilkinson, ?, Wilf Yates, his late wife Brenda Hammond, ?, Bernard Ashton and Frank Ellis.
They used to meet at Thurlaston Village Hall and at Dunchurch School in School Street.
