Names for BTH retirement photograph

Remember this one of Geoff Tye’s collection (September 17 edition) which we knew nothing about? Glen McBirnie thinks it was the retirement of ex-army captain Marchington, the man sitting in the front. He had been in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Those pictured with him were draughtsmen in the Control Gear Drawing Office on the top floor in the main office building. Although Mr McBirnie doesn’t know the name of the man on the left of the front row, next to him was Geoff Tye, Fred Adams, possibly Chen?, Tommy Davis and Bob Chambers. The tall man on the back row was Mr Gimson, the chief draughtsman in charge. Mr McBirnie says he worked there between 1960 and 1965, in the latter three years as a printer. He then went on to enjoy a 43-year career in lorry driving.
