Rockabilly’s Vince Ray rolls into Vault

VINCE Ray and the Boneshakers roll into Vault on Saturday night to belt out their own brand of rockabilly rock ‘n’ roll.

The genre, for anyone unfamiliar with it, is an underground movement that’s big on blues riffs and slick 1950s swagger.

Vince is known for his artwork, which has adorns many album covers, and also his flair for old-school tattoo designs.

He describes the sound of his Boneshakers as “Eddie Cochran colliding with Motorhead”.

Vince Ray and the Boneshakers have played with big names on the punk, rockabilly and psychobilly scenes and have shared stages with cult favourites The Stray Cats and The Reverend Horton Heat.

They are joined on the evening, which marks the Rugby based promoters Clarendon Music’s first birthday, by psychobillies The Marksmen, Leamington based The Scatsville Busters and Coventry based punks The Army of Skanks.
