CHEERLEADERS at Bawnmore Infant School are shaking their pompoms for joy after winning a competition in Rugby.

The Bawnmore Blackbirds won the Key Stage One category of the Eastern and Central Warwickshire Pom Dance Competition at the Benn Hall School.

They will now go on to represent the school at the county finals being held at North Leamington School in the summer.

Headteacher Debra Wade said she was proud of the 14 girls and hopes they do well in the finals.

She also praised the cheerleaders’ coaches at the school who are Carol Sanson and Wendy Nicholas for all the hard work they have put in with the squad.
