A good time to talk about mortgages

CONNELLS estate agent in Rugby is advising home owners who are coming to the end of a fixed rate deal on their mortgage to speak to their mortgage services consultant

Rebecca Davison could advise people on recent rate reductions by a number of lenders and save money on their monthly repayments.

She said: “A number of high street banks and lenders have recently announced products offering lower rates to homeowners making now a great time to review your current mortgage arrangements.

“In the light of historically low interest rates, remortgaging has become increasingly popular with borrowers looking to reduce the cost of their mortgage.”

One in six of the mortgages Connells arranged for customers in the first half of 2012 were for those remortgaging from their current deal.

As rates continue to fall, Rebecca expects to see even higher demand from those looking to improve upon their current mortgage arrangements.

Rebecca added: “Now is a great time for anyone with a mortgage, especially those who are coming to the end of a fixed rate, to book an appointment with a mortgage advisor and see if there are more cost effective products out there.

“With many lenders reducing rates on products, savvy homeowners will be looking to take advantage while these rates are still available.”

“Taking out a new mortgage, whether to buy a different property, change to a better deal or raise capital against an existing property for things like home improvements, is a big and potentially money saving decision,” Rebecca added.

“Remortgaging is becoming increasing popular in the current economic climate, especially as many homeowners look to reduce their monthly bills and expenses.

“I am looking forward to helping customers build a personal budget to see if and how much they could save.”
