A NEW library and sensory garden have opened at the Revel School in Monks Kirby.

They were launched to tie in with diamond jubilee celebrations at the school.

A history of the school written by local historian David Howe was also celebrated last Wednesday.

The event was opened by Linda Wainscot, head of education at the diocese.

Parents of existing pupils, former members of staff, members of the local community and many others were invited to share in the culmination of half a term of work throughout the school.

Kate Guymer, deputy headteacher at the Revel, said: “Staff and pupils put a huge amount of effort into costumes for the day and the ‘street party’ lunch. All the displays looked fantastic.”
