STRICTLY Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke charmed crowds of fans when he made a special visit to Rugby.
Anton was given a warm welcome at the Benn Hall in Newbold Road on Thursday night last week, when crowds had gathered to meet the star.
The evening began with a meet and greet session with a number of VIP guests, before Anton went on stage to talk about his life and work.
Kate Harris, who was one of the VIP ticket holders at the event, said: “It was fun meeting Anton. He is more handsome than on the TV, was his usual charming self and easily chatted to his fans.
“I enjoyed his light-hearted humour as he appeared to ad lib his show telling stories about his celebrity partners, even the last series with Ann Widdecombe! Unfortunately he’s not won yet but maybe after series nine he’ll be the champion.”
An Evening with Anton was organised Linda Williamson, managing director of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
All the money raised will go to the charity as part of Linda’s quest to raise £10,000 it. She will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro later this year to raise more funds.
