Abba tibute band in town
ONE of the best international tribute bands will be bringing the magic of the Abba to the stage in Rugby.
Since winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the hit song Waterloo, Abba - starring Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anna-frieda - dominated the charts for nearly ten years and enjoyed nine number one hits in the UK.
When Abba spilt up in the early 80s the world was denied in ever seeing the super-group perform live on stage again...or so it seemed!
Abba UK formed in the 1990s and set out to become one of the most wanted tribute bands in the entertainment world.
Their first public performance was filmed by the BBC for Children In Need. They then went to star on Granada TV in Big Meg and Little Meg, then were filmed by Midlands Today for their appearance at a open air concert at the Wolverhampton Wanderers football stadium. Last year Abba UK featured on Midlands Today again for The Beat Goes On.
Abba UK have now become Britain's finest portrayal of Abba and are currently touring across the world, building up a fan base and continually performing to sell out shows.
So far this year the group have already performed in Australia, Poland, Cyprus, Germany, France, Egypt and the UK, reliving the excitement of the 70s and bringing the global phenomenon that was Abba back to the stage.
The show has been described as one not to be missed in recent reviews and Abba UK will be wowing audiences in Rugby later this month.
The night will be one to remember with Abba UK performing a variety of huge hits including Waterloo, Dancing Queen, The Winner Takes It All and Mamma Mia.
Abba UK will be performing at The Benn Hall in Newbold Road, Rugby on Friday, March 26. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.
Tickets cost 14 for adults and 12 concessions. For tickets and more information call (01788) 541516.
