PRIZE winners of the Rupert Brooke Creative Writing competition were announced at Rugby School last Thursday.

The competition launched in 1987 to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Rupert Brooke, the Rugby-born poet who died in the First World War.

Winners in this year’s competition, which was on the theme of Places, were resoundingly from Rugby High School with Rachael Hodge winning the senior competition with her piece entitled The Lighthouse. The Junior competition was won by Briony Keay her short story, Wonderland while the First Schools competition was won by Isobel Johnson from The Crescent School with The Haunted House.
