ALBERT STREET BODY UPDATE: Police identify woman as 39-year-old Patricia Dornan

The mother of a woman found dead in Rugby last has described her daughter as ‘beautiful inside and outside’.

Police have this afternoon (Monday) formally identified the woman as 39-year-old Patricia Dornan.

In a brief statement Patricia’s mother, Hilly, said: “My daughter was beautiful, both on the inside and the outside. I just want to know what happened to my beautiful daughter.”

Patricia’s body was found near to the junction of James Street and Albert Street in the early hours of Thursday (October 17).

Police have described it as a ‘unexplained death’.

Officers are now appealing for anyone to come forward who may have seen her the previous day.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “The woman has been identified as 39-year-old Patricia Dornan. Police would like to hear from anyone who saw Patricia or who had contact with her between 3pm and midnight on Wednesday 16th October 2013, as they continue to piece together her movements.”

To assist the investigation Patricia’s family have released a picture of her in the hope that it will assist the police in piecing together her movements.

The police are also keen to locate Patricia’s iPhone which is described as being white with a pink sparkly back and a dark coloured shoulder bag that Patricia is believed to have had with her earlier on October 16.

The woman arrested on Thursday in connection with the discovery of Patricia’s body was released on police bail on Friday pending further enquiries.

A post mortem examination on Patricia was carried out on Thursday but was inconclusive, and officers are now waiting for the results of toxicology tests.
