Tickets are selling fast for the ninth Althorp Literary Festival, which is considered one of the leading literary events in the UK. Guests can enjoy inspiring and memorable talks from some of the most high profile authors and personalities in the business whilst enjoying the wonderful setting of one of England’s best loved historic homes. Authors appearing include Alistair Darling, Brian Sewell, Claire Tomalin and Jeremy Vine, as well as Antony Beevor, Louis de Bernieres, Helen Rappaport and Kate Williams. New for this year, visitors can enjoy a sumptuous bucks fizz brunch upon arrival, or a relaxing champagne afternoon tea, in the very special setting of the State Dining Room – the perfect way to start the day at the festival or relax in the afternoon. Leading the programme of events on Friday June 15, is former Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling, who will tell his story of his one thousand days in Number 11 Downing Street. Joining him is bestselling author and The Times columnist Ben Macintyre, who will trace the thrilling story of the spies who hoodwinked the Third Reich.
