Two independent shops have closed in Rugby town centre.

Vanilla Home and the jewellery shop De Silva, two doors down the road in Albert Street, have both closed.

Vanilla Home has relocated back into the main shop across the road.

Owner Helen Blamires said: “We’re still very much here but we have decided to consolidate everything back into the main shop.

“We’ve put the jewellery downstairs and homeware upstairs. The shop is buzzing.”

Helen said the Vanilla Home shop unit is currently up for let.

She added: “I’m hoping someone snaps it up because it’s a really nice shop.”

The cafe upstairs within the main Vanilla shop also closed recently.

However Helen said she has secured someone to take it over this week.

She said: “There will be a new tea shop opening selling homemade cakes. I’m hoping to will be opening in May.”

Helen said she has just launched a Facebook page for Vanilla and is also intending to launch a website later this year.

It is unclear why De Silva has closed.

A sign in the door says De Silva Ltd has closed.
