CHILDREN in Stretton got all revved up to celebrate the royal wedding.
Pupils at Knightlow C of E Primary School dressed in red, white and blue to mark the occasion, learned all about weddings and the royal family and held a quiz.
They enjoyed a ‘street party’ in the playground of the school with a wedding cupcake for each child in the school.
At the start of the party they were given a huge surprise: the arrival of a Jaguar XK painted in the colours of the Union Jack (courtesy of the Jaguar Heritage Museum).
When driving the car into the playground the driver, David Lewis said: “It was like running out on stage at a pop concert in front of screaming children – one even asked for my autograph!”
