Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman was pushed to the ground and robbed while walking in Long Lawford on Saturday morning.
The 79-year-old was in Cross Street at 10.10am on December 19 when she was approached by a man who tried to sell her a tablet device.
After saying no and walking off, the woman said she then heard footsteps behind her before being pushed to the ground in an attack which left her with head injuries.
The woman’s red handbag was stolen by the attacker who then ran off in the direction of the park.
The suspect is described by police as being a white man, aged around 18 to 20-years-old and wearing a dark-coloured zip up top at the time.
Officers also said a bus may have driven past the area just before the woman was attacked - with an appeal for any passengers who might also have been approached by the man to get in touch.
A 25 year-old man from Rugby has since been arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident and is currently on bail until January 16.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
