Police are appealing for information after a home was ransacked in Binley Woods.

At some point between 8.15am and 4.30pm on February 1 offenders broke into a home that was in a secluded rural area on Rugby Road.

The offenders attempted to force open the wooden front door with a flat bladed instrument.

After failing to open the door they then used bodily force on the door to force it open and entered the house.

Once inside, they searched all of the bedrooms, leaving items scattered across the hallway and down the stairs. They also searched the rear dining room and moved ornaments around.

It is believed that the resident disturbed the offenders when they returned home as a laptop and a jewellery box were found on the kitchen table and two male offenders were seen running from the area, carrying bags.

Several items, including an IPad mini and jewellery were stolen from the house.

The offenders have been described as male, with one wearing white tracksuit bottoms and the other was white and wearing a green parka coat with the fur lined hood pulled up.

Police are appealing for any information or witnesses of this incident.

Anyone with information should call the police on 101 quoting incident number 294 of February 1.
