Police are appealing for information after a home was ransacked in Binley Woods.

At some point between 8.15am and 4.30pm on February 1 offenders broke into a home that was in a secluded rural area on Rugby Road.

The offenders attempted to force open the wooden front door with a flat bladed instrument.

After failing to open the door they then used bodily force on the door to force it open and entered the house.

Once inside, they searched all of the bedrooms, leaving items scattered across the hallway and down the stairs. They also searched the rear dining room and moved ornaments around.

It is believed that the resident disturbed the offenders when they returned home as a laptop and a jewellery box were found on the kitchen table and two male offenders were seen running from the area, carrying bags.

Several items, including an IPad mini and jewellery were stolen from the house.
