YOUNG gardeners have been planting fruit trees at Barby primary after being given them by a business celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The apple and pear trees were donated because the Lloyd Fraser logistics company wanted to leave a lasting legacy to mark its 25th year of trading.
Joanne Campbell, of Barby primary, said: “We’re an eco school so these plants will be a great addition to what we already have here. I’m sure the children will also be interested in seeing how they change throughout the year as they blossom in the spring before bearing fruit in the autumn.
“We’re grateful to Lloyd Fraser for providing us with them and I’m sure they’ll be enjoyed by children here for many years to come.”
