CREATIVE pupils at Long Lawford School have done their own take on a famous painting by French artist Monet.
They joined with three other schools as part of a project by the National Gallery called Take One Picture.
Each year the gallery focuses on one painting from the collection to inspire work in classrooms.
The gallery then displays a selection of the work in the annual Take One Picture exhibition.
The children’s version of the Impressionist’s work Bathers at La Genouillère is on display at the school.
Headteacher Rob Morrisey said: “We took the painting as stimulus for our project and the finished result is visually stunning. The children worked in different activities, including a visit to an art gallery and they gained a lot from all working together.”
Artist Daniel Maddison, who is a former pupil at the school, helped the students with the work.
Mr Morrisey added: “It’s has been an enjoyable and creative project for everyone. The finished piece is brilliant.”
