A two-year programme of events to promote a passion for poetry in people of all ages is being rolled out by Warwickshire County Council with Arts Council England funding.
The Arts Council has awarded £48,800 to Warwickshire Poetry Voices - a participatory project to encourage and inspire the reading, reciting and performance of poetry.
The project, run by the county council’s Library Service, will offer children, young people and adults an opportunity to develop performance skills and the confidence to share and perform poetry.
The previous Warwickshire Poetry Voices pilot scheme proved a great success and attracted nearly 300 participants. The project’s two performers in residence delivered more than 40 poetry in performance workshops.
