Brownsover Community School have recently been awarded a Bronze Standard for their commitment towards the Warwickshire Young Carers Projects and are now working towards their silver Standard.

The Young Carers Project offers support and care to anyone under the age of 18 who looks after a relative who has a disability, long term illness, mental health condition or drug or alcohol problem.

Elisa Basnett, Headteacher at the school, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded a Bronze Standard, it’s a wonderful way to recognise the often hidden role that some of our children have outside of school.

“The Young Carers Project offers them a chance to access support and raise awareness, which is vital to their well being and learning success.
