Blue skies over Rugby and one of the favourites signs of June bursting out all over has arrived in the town centre.

The barrier baskets along the middle of Corporation Street had been looking forlorn and empty, prompting a number of readers to ask if they were going to be filled this year.

Well, the answer is right in front of us now as the whole stretch is full of summer colour.

And if you’ve got green fingers there’s still time to enter Rugby in Bloom as the closing date is Monday, July 4.

After winning gold in the 2015 Heart of England in Bloom Awards, Rugby is representing the Heart of England in the Britain in Bloom Awards 2016.

Rugby in Bloom supports the national Britain in Bloom campaign.

Categories cater for gardeners of all ages and abilities, with awards also on offer for schools, businesses and voluntary organisations.

This year’s Rugby in Bloom celebrates the Queen’s 90th birthday. It also celebrates the borough’s edible gardening project and promotes the Enjoy Rugby theme.

Rugby in Bloom entry forms are available from the borough council’s website: www.rugbygov.co.uk
