A devoted dad is saddling up to raise funds for the gymnastics club where his two daughters attend.
Steve Byatt hopes to raise £1,500 for Rugby Gymnastics Club by taking part in a 100k bike ride.
It is taking place on September 1 to help the Rugby Gymnastics Club Legacy Centre.
Steve said: “I will be cycling from Rugby to Northampton and it’s not something I am particularly looking forward to! It’s going to be a really big challenge but I’m determined to do it.”
The centre needs to raise £3 million and the first step is to get £15,000 together.
“I’ve done a couple of rides so far,” added Steve, who lives in Bilton.
“This is the big one though and it’s going to worry me.”
His daughters Ruby and Katie have been doing gymnastics at the club for a number of years.
“It’s such a valuable service to the community but their current premises are beyond repair ,” said Steve.
“I hope to get lots of sponsors.”
“My girls will be there and I know they will help me get to the finish line.”
His wife Holly said Steve is a proud dad who wants to do his best.
She added: “He wants to raise as much money and awareness as he can.”
