PEOPLE who have worked to create a new £500,000 community hub with Bilton Evangelical Church tucked into a special builders’ breakfast on Tuesday.

Church members who dug deep into their pockets and then co-ordinated the work joined the building’s architect and a representative of Stoneway Estates, who built the centre, as well as some of the builders and electricians for strong tea and bacon and sausage sandwiches.

An open day takes place at the church from 4.30pm on Sunday.

Lead pastor Paul Rogers said: “As a church our heart is to love and serve our local community.

“We believe these new premises will help us to do that so much better in the future.”
