Bomb threat in shopping centre

ALARMED crowds were evacuated from Rugby’s Clock Towers shopping centre and nearby streets after a bomb scare yesterday (Thursday).

Police revealed there was suspicious activitiy in the centre around midday.

Around an hour later the authorities declared the shopping centre safe and re-opened it.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police, said: “We got a call about suspicious activitiy and had no choice but to evacute the building.

“People were evacuated in the nearby park and streets but were allowed back in a short time after.”
