A brave Rugby woman has shaved her head to raise money for charity and provide wigs for children with cancer.

Samantha Allen had her head shaved on Tuesday at Essensuals in Rugby, who gave up their time for free.

She raised £655 and has more donations on the way.

The fundraising event was in honour of Samantha’s neighbour Jake, who is in remission after battling with a Germ Cell Tumour. Jake was diagnosed in July last year just a month after his second birthday and had six months of chemotherapy.

Jake was given the all clear at the start of the year.

Samantha said: “I was a little nervous, but knowing that so many people had donated and how the money raised would be so helpful definitely calmed my nerves. Although I may have gone for a stiff drink afterwards! Stephen from Essensuals was amazing and very supportive.”
