TWO people have been taken to hospital following a crash in Hillmorton this morning (Friday).
Emergency services, including two fire crews from Rugby, were called to Crick Road in Hillmorton this morning, close to the Royal Oak Hungry Horse pub, at around 6.15am.
The accident involved two cars and one person has been seriously injured. One person was trapped in a car and had to be cut free by firefighters.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews arrived to find a collision between two cars.
“A male in his 20s received serious head, neck, back and leg injuries. He was immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further assessment and treatment.”
A front seat passenger, a man in his 20s, travelling in the same vehicle hurt his arm and has been taken to hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle involved was not injured and did not require hospital treatment.
The A428 Crick Road, both ways at B4038 Kilsby Lane has been closed.
There is heavy traffic in both directions near the B4038 Kilsby Lane junction.
