BREAKING NEWS: Tarratt jewellers robber sentenced to five years in prison

A JUDGE has sentenced a man to five years in prison following a robbery at a Rugby jewellers.

Jordan Robert Elis Mitchell, 24, from Mary Street in Bradford, West Yorkshire has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for robbery after appearing at Warwick Crown Court at Leamington Spa today (Wednesday).

Mitchell was arrested after police followed a car from the area of a robbery that occurred at Tarratt jewellers (previously Thomas Cleavers) in Regent Street, Rugby at around 11.35am on Monday, September 3.

Following questioning, he was charged late the next day.

At court he pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery and was sentenced to five years imprisonment.

DS Neal Candelent said: “Whilst we are pleased with this sentence, our investigation into the robbery is not over and work is still ongoing to identify and arrest the others involved.”
