Anyone struggling to keep their new year’s resolution to keep fit now has the perfect motivation – a fundraising run for Myton Hospice in Rugby.
The event will be held at Draycote Water on Sunday March 17 and is open to runners of all abilities.
There will be a timed five-mile run, organised with Rugby and Northampton Athletics Club, stretching around the perimeter of the reservoir.
But don’t worry if you’re not an expert runner. There will also be a five-mile course for entrants who want to jog or just walk the distance at their own pace – and in their most colourful garb.
Beth Nicholson from Myton Hospice’s events team said: “We are delighted to be working with Rugby and Northampton Athletics Club for our first spring run and hope it will be a great event.
“To add some colour and fun to the occasion, we would love to see runners in their favourite spring-themed costumes or outfits. From a burst of colour all the way to a full-on Easter themed costume, we will leave it for you to be as creative as you fancy.”
The charity needs to raise £7.2 million a year to keep its hospices open. Rugby Myton Hospice is in the grounds of St Cross hospital.
