MORE than £1,000 has been raised for charity by kind-hearted shoppers in Rugby.

The British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electrical Store in Rugby’s High Street held a raffle to win a Christmas hamper.

The raffle raised a total of £1,200 through the sale of tickets.

Shopper Rose Clarke, who was the 100th customer through the door on the day the raffle was drawn, was asked if she would draw the winning ticket.

The lucky winner was given a hamper full of Christmas treats including wine, cheese and shortbread.

Manager Joanna Stewart said: “We’re really pleased it raised so much money for the charity.”
