POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an aggravated burglary at an address in St Margaret’s Avenue, Wolston in the early hours of Monday.

At around 2.10am four males, all wearing balaclava masks and dressed in dark clothing, were seen to leave a house in St Margaret’s Road after they had broken into the premises. They were carrying what appeared to be pieces of wood similar to baseball bats.

As they left the premises the the window of a white Audi A3 car, parked on the drive, was deliberately smashed.

All four got into a dark coloured hatchback car, possibly a Ford Focus, and drove off.

Police have spoken to a number of people living nearby, who were awoken by the disturbance, but would like to hear from anyone else who saw the disturbance or saw the black car being driven away from St Margaret’s Avenue.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Detective Constable Mick Duffy at Nuneaton CID on 02476 641111 x 3186.

No one was injured in the burglary as the property they forced entry to was empty at the time.
