Businesses are nothing without people – and the best can make a real difference to your firm’s success.

Nominations are still open for the Rugby Business Excellence Awards, which take place on Friday June 7 at the Dunchurch Park Hotel.

And one of the categories is Employee of the Year, sponsored by Nationwide Windows & Doors, honouring the contribution made by your staff.

Owners, directors, managers and colleagues can nominate anyone who they believe has made a significant difference to the success of a department or overall business.

The judges are looking for the following:

1) How the individual has demonstrated a desire to succeed

2) The impact the individual has had on others in the business

3) The impact the individual has had on the overall performance of the business.

Please also write 40 to 50 words about why you believe the individual should win the award. The deadline for entries is Friday May 17.

Daryl Cashmore, operations director of Nationwide Windows & Doors, said: “We employ in excess of 150 people and are only too aware that our success is dependant upon our employees and the commitment that they have to our business. In difficult economic times it has been necessary for us all to look at our businesses in a new light and develop ways of working more efficiently.

“More than ever those individuals who are prepared to do that bit extra, improve upon what they already do, think of new and innovative ways to get the job done, overcome the difficulties and come out smiling and show continued commitment are such an asset to any company – a value cannot be put on their worth. These awards are one way of showing how much such employees are valued both by the company that they work for and their work colleagues. These are the qualities we will be looking for when judging the entries for this year’s award.”

Tickets for the ceremony are available for £40 plus VAT. Please reserve your places soon as space is limited. Call (01788) 539999.
