A HUNDRED apprenticeships have been created by Rugby firm Storers Asset Management LLP.

The company, based just off Bilton Road near the town centre, has been awarded a contract with City College Coventry that will come into effect over the next 12 months and provide Level 2 apprenticeships for Construction and Groundworks.

Twelve apprentices have already signed up and a further 28 are due to start next month, with the following 60 to be taken on in the new year.

Nigel Dale, senior partner at Storers, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people to earn while they learn.

“This equates to 100 opportunities for Rugby people to be trained and qualified in the construction industry.

“Given that the government is focussing on job creation and training and the town is facing two large developments at the Hillmorton mast site and the Gateway site, this contract proves that the construction industry is alive and kicking and also about to enter a period of growth, especially in Rugby.”

Councillor Heather Timms, portfolio holder for the Economy and Development at Rugby Borough Council added: “Considering the growth of the town, there will be some great opportunities for people within the construction industry.”

Anyone wishing to consider an apprenticeship in construction or groundworks should ring Storers on 01788 552020 for more information.
