STAFF from a Rugby company have proved they’re as skilled at driving cars as they are at selling tyres for them.
The team at TW Tyres in Paynes Lane won a two-and-a-half-hour endurance karting race in Milton Keynes last month, beating 15 others to the chequered flag. The event was organised by tyre manufacturer Bridgestone.
Staff took turns to race at the Daytona track and, having qualified in third place, found themselves in 7th position at one point. But they worked their way through the pack to record their impressive victory with a 17-second lead.
As the winners, they had dinner with Tiff Needell, the racing driver and TV presenter.
Mr Needell later presented them with a trophy.
