Car stolen during a burglary in Cawston

BURGLARS who broke into a Cawston home stole the car keys before taking the vehicle parked outside.

The white Ford S-Max MPV was stolen sometime between 10pm on Thursday and 5am on Friday.

The vehicle was stolen by burglars who gained entry to the house and also stole a handbag along with the car keys, which were used to steal the car. A laptop computer and a man’s wallet, which were inside the vehicle were also taken.

Police would like to hear form anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the locality of Spottiswood Close, Cawston overnight, or anyone who may have seen the MPV being driven away.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “Police also remind members of the public of the importance of ensuring their homes are secure, with windows and doors locked, and keys removed from mortice locks, even when you are in the house. Car keys and other valuables should also be kept in a safe place within the house out of view of anyone looking through a window or who may have got in to the property.”
