A MAN was taken to hospital yesterday morning (Monday) after yet another crash near the Catthorpe Interchange.

Just before 4.30am a van collided with a lorry on the westbound carriageway between junction one of the A14 and Catthorpe.

The road was closed in both directions, although the eastbound carriageway re-opened at around 6am.

The westbound fully re-opened at around 9am but morning rush hour traffic experienced significant delays.

Police said the driver of the van was trapped for a while and was freed by firefighters before being taken by ambulance to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The M6 near Catthorpe was also closed yesterday afternoon.

The southbound carriageway from junction one at Rugby was closed following an accident. The motorway reopened at around 6pm.
