Tables decked with Union Jacks and laden with cake lined a road in Cawston yesterday, Sunday, afternoon.
Gold Avenue was closed off to traffic as a street party got under way to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday - and the crowds were treated to some vibrant blue skies.
The special celebration ran from noon to 3pm and was open to residents of Gold Avenue, Sarawak Place, Field View and Kalfs Drive.
One of the event organisers, Louisa Porter, said: “We had a really good turnout with about 150 or so people.
“Donations more than covered the costs, so we will be sending the excess of £70 to the Air Ambulance.”
Another organiser of the event, Selina Vegad, added that it was “great to get a bit of good old community spirit going among our busy lifestyles.”
