A town centre pub has been visited by Rugby’s MP.
Mark Pawsey enjoyed a pint of ale at the Merchants Inn in Little Church Street ahead of its beer festival this week.
Mr Pawsey said: “I was delighted to visit the Merchants to toast the cancellation of the 3p increase in beer duty by the Chancellor in his last budget. We are lucky to have pubs like the Merchants in Rugby which are institutions of great social and economic value and I am delighted the Government is supporting them.”
The beer festival runs until Sunday.
