Cemex employees clocked up 10,000 steps a day to raise money for a cancer support centre.

The Hummingbird Centre, in Regent Place, Rugby, received £750 from Cemex’s fitness challenge.

During 2014, teams of employees had taken part in the Pedometer Challenge which encouraged individuals to walk 10,000 steps per day.

Helen Ure, who manages the new centre, said: “We are delighted and very grateful to receive the cheque and support from Cemex as it will mean being able to offer more support to people affected by cancer.”

The group holds regular sessions and events for people affected by the disease.
