Scout leader Ceri Sinfield has dusted down his walking boots to complete a 200 mile walk for victims of the earthquake in Nepal.

He plans to finish the walk in 14 days to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee and their work in relieving the suffering caused by the disaster.

Ceri, who is from Rugby, was inspired by stories he heard of the work being done by Scout groups in Nepal in helping their fellow countrymen and decided to help by conducting his own fund raising walk.

He set off on Saturday and is carrying out his walk on the 100-mile Leicester Round long distance footpath around the outskirts of the city of Leicester - completing a distance equivalent to twice the length of this trail.

His walk will end at Foxton Locks and he said he was looking forward to the challenge.
