TWO Rugby cooks were declared the winners of a Warwickshire episode of the popular Channel 4 TV show Come Dine With Me.

Lee Bunting and Jade Hollis shared the £1,000 prize money after they received the most points for the meals they cooked for dinner guests Susan Gillis and Alan James.

Lee, 33, from Rugby said: “I loved it. It was a great experience. I think I was a worthy winner. My main course was the best all week. I didn’t mind sharing the money with Jade. We were just desperate for Susan not to win.”

Jade, 21, who watches the show everyday, said: “It was a great experience. I loved it.”

Around two million viewers tuned in at 8pm on Sunday to watch the four contestants go head to head. During the space of a week each person had to cook a three-course meal for the others at their home.

While Lee and Jade hosted their dinner parties in Rugby, guests were invited to Susan’s home in Kilsby and Alan’s in Kineton near Leamington.

Much of the episode was centred around a row that broke out between Susan and Jade around the dinner table.

Jade, who was Miss Rugby in 2008, added: “I thought Susan was a nightmare. Everyone did.”

Filming locations included Rugby Theatre, Cafe Vin Cinq, Merchants Inn and the William Webb Ellis.
