THE M6 motorway near Rugby has closed this afternoon (Thursday) after two serious accidents involving lorries.
The first accident happened on the northbound carriageway near junction one involving three lorries.
The second accident happened just afterwards, about half a mile from the first crash nearer to the Catthorpe Interchange.
Emergency services are on the scene and the situation has been classed as ‘very severe’.
The M6 is currently close with traffic was queuing back to Catthorpe. A diversion operation is in place.
It is not yet known how many people have been injured.
